Has anyone ever been on trips with Contiki? How would rate them?

Vampie asked:

My friends and I are planning a trip to Europe for this May and Contiki is one of the options.
We want to basically go to London, Paris and Rome in our trip.
Ive read some reviews about Contiki and some arent that pleasant.
Are their trips always group-based or can you go and do your own thing, sort of like a leisure-based trip.
And what about their hotels? Ive read some reviews with people who were put up in very bad accommodation.

I just need an idea of the “Contiki Experience” to see if its worth it.

Oh and the one we are looking at right now is for 11 days, based in London, Paris and Rome…is about 2 days enough in each city to do the sightseeing?

Thanks.

Has anyone taken an amtrak trip for leisure? Say from the Bay Area to Reno/Tahoe or other places? If so, is it a comfortable trip? Do you recommend it for families? What is the cost?

I want to open a bank account in Canada so that I can deposit funds to show Canadian immigration that I have sufficient funds for resettling there. I would like to know if as a non Canadian citizen/resident if I can do so, and if so what steps do I need to take to open an account with just my passport when I return to Canada during a leisure trip.

Me and my sister were upgraded to leisure select for our trip to Disneyland Paris in June. We realise this gives us a meal there and back. We were wondering if anyone knows the types of food they will offer us?

You won’t be able to take your usual summer job that pays $6,000, and you won’t be able to live at home for free. The cost of your travel on the trip will be $3,000, film and videotape will cost you $200, and your food will cost $1,400. What is the opportunity cost of taking this trip?

Is it safe to vacation at the beach when you are 26 weeks pregnant?

sweet_lil_hillbillee asked:

My family goes to the beach every year for vacation for a week. We spend alot of time on the beach, but also go to amusement parks and shows (I won’t be riding ANY rides). It is a 8 1/2 hour trip and we are driving, however we are driving halfway and staying overnight so the ride isn’t as long and grueling. Any tips on safety? I mean anything I should know about? Also is it safe to sit in the stands and watch a derby? I will be about 7 months then..Thanks so much! This is my first child and I just dont’ know all the precautions to take.
My husband and I tried for two years to get pregnant. If you don’t care to be sensitive to my question please don’t give your input. Words can cut deeper than you’d think. I would NEVER tell ANYONE that they have no business having a baby just because they had heard that the noise of a derby can hurt a pregnancy. I don’t know if it can or not…that’s the reason I am asking the question.
