I’m planning for a trip nearby Singapore, but do not want a touristy pl or hot tropical climate. Suggestions?

I have went to most parts of Malaysia before for shopping, trekking and food, but are there any less known areas in Malaysia that might be worth exploring? Any resorts that are not too man-made and touristy?

Also, I hope to visit a cooler place and escape from the scorching tropical heat which I get in Singapore whole year round, without going all the way to the European or American continents.

I’ve been to Hong Kong last June, and places like Japan or Korea are too costly for a student for me at this moment.

I’d be going with my boyfriend and it should be a leisure trip (or any suggestions for interesting places for sight-seeing?).

Thanks for the help in advance!

Which would be the better 7-day vacation and why? Brisbane, Australia; Cebu, Philippines; or Singapore?

If I’m working in South Korea, and I have 9 days off from work, assuming my first and last days of the vacation I am in transit, I have seven days that I can devote to leisure. I decide that I want to spend those seven days elsewhere, and I’ve narrowed the choices down to Brisbane, Australia; Cebu, Philippines; and Singapore. I’m OK with the round-trip fares to any of these three cities. I’ve already determined that I can get a room reserved for my stay in any of the three cities for a price I consider reasonable. I have never been to any of these three cities ever before in my life, in fact, I’ve never been to any of those 3 countries ever before in my life. The only countries I’ve ever been in before are the USA, Canada, South Korea, and Japan. Other than the transportation and the lodging, I have yet to plan my activities. You can plan for me. Based on everything I’ve told you, please persuade me why I should choose the destination that you propose out of the 3 listed.
