How can I travel from Rome to Pompeii, and how long will it take?

Hey, I’m going to Rome in May, however I want to do a day trip to Pompeii. Is it possible to travel by train there, and if so where would I buy the tickets from, and how long would the trip take?
Or is there tour companies that do day trips there maybe?

   Hi! I would suggest catching a train at the train station in Rome. It should take 1-2 hours approximately. Pompeii is definately a must see when your in Italy. You can also hire a private car to take you, but it’s going to cost you more or I’m sure they have tour companies in Rome that go to Pompeii as an excursion if you don’t want to do the train station alone. Even though it’s quite safe. Hope it helps ya out!
