Ideas for a surprise adventure birthday trip?

Help! I am trying to figure out what I can give my husband for his birthday and running out of ideas. He loves travel/hiking/backpacking/mountain biking. We live in San Francisco. It has to be under $500. He also loves technology and photography. I am thinking - some sort of surprise weekend adventure trip. If you have any ideas, please chime in! Thanks!

The item that you hide the item that you got him for his birthday and you create map and create map and about where he likes hikingmountain biking all that sorts why dont you get him for his birthday and then he has to go find it either that sorts why.
